Description: Split toning is a traditional black and white darkroom technique that creates a color split effect where the shadows are one color and the highlights another.

Note: Please don't point out that this effect might be achieved using the color balance - we're aware of that but want to teach something different now and again.

Ive always used a slightly different method:

---------------What the LAYERS PALLET looks like---------------
YELLOW hue/saturation adjustment layer with colorize checked
duplicated layer
BLUE hue/saturation adjustment layer with colorize checked
original layer

Then on the duplicated layer, open the blending options and under "Blend if: Gray", I split the black slider into 2 sliders and move them closer to the white slider until the effect is right.

Dont you just LOVE photoshop!
